It features a durable black resin case, large buttons for easy access to timing functions, and a comfortable polyurethane strap. It also offers water resistance to 100 meters (330 feet), three alarms (with 5-minute backup), and three time zones. Other features include a top pusher for easy access to lap and split times, an occasion mode to set reminders for birthdays, anniversaries, holidays and appointments, and all-day white reflector display. • 100-hour chronograph with lap or split option in large digits
  • 30-lap memory recall
  • 2-mode countdown timer

This watch incorporates the Timex Flix system, which activates the Indiglo night-light with a simple flick of your wrist. To activate FLIX, put the watch into Night-Mode by pressing and holding the Indiglo night-light button 3 seconds until it beeps. With the watch in Night-Mode, a forward “flick” of the wrist with a sharp “stop” will activate the Indiglo night-light for three seconds.

The Indiglo night-light uniformly lights the surface of the watch dial using patented blue electroluminescent lighting technology. It uses less battery power than most other watch illumination systems, enabling your watch battery to last longer.

5 Stars Solid digital low profile watch
This watch is the perfect “nobody notices it” watch. It is low profile, black, doesnt stand out, and I feel comfortable wearing it at work, event, tradeshow, working out, or out and about. Has perfect size digital numbers for time, date, and day.

It has all the functions I needed, stopwatch, timer/countdown, and 3 alarms(which are loud enough to wake you up!) I dont care much for the “occasions reminders” for birthdays or whatever, with pda and outlook, I dont need it, but it has it.

I like the locking loop for the wrist band that clicks in so it doesnt slip out.

Great watch, not bold and in your face, sleek an clean looking, and the biggest thing of all for me, was not a huge plastic watch-thing on my wrist. not bulky. I am average size, I love the G-shock watches, but they are to bulky on me.

Flix setting is cool on this watch, ez to use.

5 Stars Great watch with replaceable strap!
This watch is very good at doing what it says it does. The multiple alarms (3) are really useful. The watch is slightly improved for the triathlon I had in the early 90s. Although it is a digital watch, it doesn’t look too ostentatious. My favorite thing about this watch is that you can replace the strap if it breaks, which is not the case on the newer sleek-style timex watches (also I don’t really like the way they look).

4 Stars Great Product
My husband absolutely loved this watch that I gave him for Christmas. It is perfect for his runs!

5 Stars Simple, well thought out.
This watch is very well made and the functions are all easy to use and intuitive. I have had Ironman watches before but this one seems better thought out.

3 Stars Not user Friendly
My previous Timex watch allowed me to turn the stopwatch on in one step. This one u must press the mode switch to bring the stop watch function up then press the start button. Alot of hassle. The band also has a notch on the band that makes it a hassle getting off and on. I really loved my old Ironman. This new one is just OK

5 Stars exactly what i wanted!
i got this watch for my daughter for her birthday and ordered it at the last minute. she has had 2 others just like it and so i wanted to get the same one but money is tight and i couldnt pay the $80 or more dollars other places wanted. i was so happy to find it here at short notice for a fraction of what i would hhave paid elsewhere. excellent quality and functions perfectly she loves it!

1 Star Watch popped out of band
I purchased this watch at Wal-Mart, and after a month or two the strap separated from the watch on the side of the buckle. It pulled away from the watch where the two upper buttons are located. The watch could be hooked back into the strap; but the strap remained loose and the upper part of the watch separated from it frequently. This continued for another month or so until today, when the watch popped completely out of the strap and was lost somewhere. This is a terrible design and I would never purchase another one.

4 Stars Great features but NOT durable
I got one of these as a Christmas gift about four years ago. Within a year the painted silver-blue bezel was chipping off (another user has posted pictures of the same thing). I kept wearing it even though it looked more and more shabby. In about two and a half years the watch alarm stopped going off. It thought it was working, but it didn’t make any noise. I don’t know why; other functions sometimes made noise. Three years in, it started not running all the time, and rather than try replacing the battery I just decided to switch back to my 30-lap Ironman which was still running on my dresser all that time. Oh, also somewhere in there I did start having occasional trouble with the watch band slipping off one of the retainer pegs on the watch, but it was easy to fix (and the watch never fell off my wrist).

That being said, I’m actually ordering another one now. Why? The features are great. It has multiple alarms (you can even set them based on day vs weekend) and two time zones (which is great for me because I travel a lot and have a hard time subtracting hours on the fly). I haven’t quite figured out the log feature, but I used the interval feature a couple times and it was keen. For $35, maybe it’s worth it. Though I will order a color that looks better when the paint chips off.

So - good features, but don’t expect it to look pretty for very long.

2 Stars Watch Band Cleaning…?
Has anyone found a way to clean the watch band of this or any other Timex watches (those with similar, plastic bands)? I’ve tried a variety of cleaning agents: soap/water, rubbing alcohol, white vinegar, distilled bleach, Fantastic, Windex…the list goes on. Nothing has seemed to work.

I e-mailed the Timex company asking about cleaning instructions and received this e-mail:

“There is not way to clean those type of watches, the watch color fades,

we have to replace the complete unit when a consumer wants a new band.

That charge is $10.00.

Sincerely,

Judy Hill

Timex Group USA Inc Customer Service. jh”

Discouraging, however I find it hard to believe that Timex has created something totally “uncleanable.” Has anyone found a way to clean these watch bands?

4 Stars Can withstand a washing in a washing machine!
By mistake my new watch was part of a load of wash. I found it at the end of the cycle. It was “foggy” and even stopped for two hours later in the day, but then started again and lost the fog. It is good as new, though did get a bit scratched up….. and VERY clean.

5 Stars Best watch I have ever owned
This is the best watch I have ever owned. I am in the Army, and it has all the functions that I need. It’s very comfortable and easy to use.

5 Stars Timex Expedition
This is the best Timex watch that I have owned, and I’ve had several. The watch and band are comfortable, and I really like the fast-wrap velcro band. The watch display is crystal clear, large and readable.

5 Stars timex watch
Solid as usual from Timex. Since I work as a contractor, I like the recessed bezel which delays the inevitable scratches that happen. I also like the location and size of the night light button. Good job Timex. I did cut off the tiny compass; it was not accurate and stuck out too far.

5 Stars Timex Men’s Expedition Digital Chrono Alarm Timer Watch #T45961
This watch was everything that I expected, Timex quality and performance.

The nylon arm strap in my point of view is much better than the plastic ones. The compass was a nice feature but fell off after a couple of days.

Would buy another if and when this one wears out.

5 Stars great watch
I bought this a gift for my son. He does not like to wear watches but he has loved this one.

5 Stars Great watch!
I’ve owned this watch for about a year now. I’ve got no complaints about it at all. This Timex has held up remarkably well and works fine as a casual or business watch (or timepiece, if you prefer). As others have mentioned, the watch is somewhat heavy if you compare it to other non-metal type bands. However, this is not something that has ever bothered me and I only recently noticed it as I was shopping around for a watch to wear that has a black band instead of the silver. Overall, the features are great. I don’t typically use the chrono very much because this isn’t a watch I’d purchase for actually working out in, although you could if you chose to. This may be where the weight of the watch comes into play. So for working out/running/etc, I wouldn’t recommend it. But I don’t know why anyone would chose a watch with a metal bracelet to workout in anyway…The digital and analog times can be set differently, which is useful when traveling or keeping track of the time in an area where a loved one lives or is visiting. Digital display is easy to read in all lights and indiglo works great. Overall, I’d highly recommend this watch for someone wanting to have a multifunction watch that is suitable for both casual and business attire. Although it is an ironman, I wouldn’t recommend it for anything requiring vigorous movement of the arms, due to the heaviness and potential for watch movement to chafe the wrist.

4 Stars pros and cons
Pros-

My daughters all say it is much better looking than my older analog/digital Ironman w plastic strap.

Nice big #’s on display-easy to read.

Easy to operate countdown alarm-handy when cooking steaks, starting sailing regattas, etc

Cons-

Kind of heavy. Can’t wear while playing golf

Not a big fan of metal bands-fit is tricky-have to remove some links.

Alarms don’t continue long enough…easy to sleep through.

I would buy again.J

5 Stars Really beautiful watch
I love the aesthetics of this. I love the aesthetics of classic analog watches, but I just love digital watches because I can tell the time much faster. Being an Ironman, this thing is very durable and very unlikely to break from just normal wear. Its got your pretty standard feature set, but I’m basically buying it because its cheap and I love the color and aesthetics of it. I’d highly recommend it.

4 Stars good watch
good metal one. if you need a cheap and reliable metal watch, you should get it.

4 Stars Pretty Good Watch for the price
A nice stylish Analog-Digital Watch. Comfortable to wear, fit perfectly out of the box. Only downside to it is that the analog and digital times where not in sync. would be nice if they stayed together.

2 Stars Band broke after a few weeks, not covered by warranty
I purchased this watch and the band broke after a few weeks. Bad news–the band is not covered by the 1 year warranty. Avoid this watch.

4 Stars Good Practical Watch
Good watch for the price. Easy to read time and relatively easy to operate. I had another one, and it lasted about 3 1/2 years.

1 Star Picked a lemon
I’ve purchased this same exact watch before and it worked great. Used it for swimming, running, and everything in between. Not a problem with the first watch. I decided to purchase the same exact watch again through amazon.com since my first watch was getting pretty beat up. I’d had it for years and the wrist band was about to go. The silver grey paint was starting to flake off. The new second watch looked exactly as my first watch except the 2nd day I used it for my usuall swimming sessions I noticed the watch a few hours later had fogged and water had gottten into the watch were it shorted out the crystal display. Bad luck of the draw!?!?!? I’ll probably buy another of the same model and figure that this one just happened to be a lemon.

2 Stars Kinda worthless as an “Ironman” watch
Be forwarned that you can’t use this lap swimming as it is not water resistant when you press the buttons. Mine went dead thanks to that and it makes an expensive paper weight. Worthless.

5 Stars Great running watch
If you’re looking for a light weight, easily read watch, this is the one. I was amazed on how light it feels on your wrist. The large screen and numbers make it a welcome addition to your running gear. The band is resin and there is a nice addition to keep the end was flopping around. The is a hole at the end of the strap and the movable strap retainer has a corresponding knob on the inside that locks the strap end in place so it doesn’t flop around, great idea! You’ll enjoy this product.
