5 Stars Good Product
I was impressed with the display. It is very easy to read in all light conditions.

4 Stars Great Watch
This is a great watch, especially for small to medium build guys. It’s a good size watch but it’s not nearly the dinner plate replacement that some of it’s ABC brethren are.

2 Stars Nice case, inacceptable band
I’ve used this watch for 4 years now and I like the case very much. But the band, either Titanium or SS ( practically the same ) is definitely unacceptable. I’ve changed it 3 times and lost a watch to it.

Other annoyances :

+ Watch is not full SS or Titanium.

+ Alarm is inaudible

2 Stars Band is not Ti
Caveat emptor. The band is mostly resin with some Ti shards. Alarm is inaudible. Otherwise a good timepiece.

2 Stars Great Watch, Terrible Strap
To summarize, this is a great watch, saddled with a bad and expensive strap design.

As a watch, the design is quite good - it is sturdy and very feature rich. There are a few minor shortcomings, however.

- The user interface is poorly designed. Some of the features will be completely inaccessible to you unless you have a photographic memory or have the manual in your hands.

- The thermometer is on your wrist. This makes it an inaccurate reference for determining the existing ambient temperature, or your body temperature. To get an accurate reading of the ambient temperature, it’s best to remove the watch, and let it sit for a while.

- A lack of a count-down timer. (However, there is an alarm)

- Very quiet alarm, inaudible in louder settings.

The truly disappointing component of this watch is the bad strap design.

- It costs $120 to replace (1/3rd the price of the whole watch!) After scouring the Internet and Ebay, I was completely unable to a significantly better price on the strap.

- It is an integrated strap, so it can only be replaced Suunto Observer strap, not a generic watch strap.

- The watch bracelet is not a full metal bracelet - it is only a rubber strap with metal inserts for looks only. I personally don’t mind this, but some people dislike it.

- The only way to size the bracelet to your wrist is to cut it with a pair of scissors! If you make a mistake cutting your strap, it will cost you $120. This also means that you cannot loan the watch to anyone who does not have the exact same wrist size as you. I have never seen this kind of design before in another watch.

- The rubber/elastomer part of the bracelet is a particularly cheap material. The forums are full of complaints of strap failure. Depending on your wear level, the strap will fail after a few years. Suunto refuses to sell the elastomer part of the bracelet separately, even if you speak to customer service. Instead, they will insist you need to purchase a new strap kit for $120. This is ridiculous for a part that costs pennies to manufacture.

Realize that you will be paying $120 every few years for as long as you wear this watch.

4 Stars An excellent Techno-Geek item
This is an excellent item for the ipod. I’m using this with the 80GB classic and it works like a charm. The range is great and I haven’t had any glitches, lack of reception or radio interference.

Keep in mind that the receiver is powered by the ipod, so when not in use, you’ll want to remover the receiver so you don’t drain your battery. It doesn’t make a significant impact on play time when in use, but you will see your power drop if you just let it site for hours at a time.

All in all, a great product.

Plus the watch works well in that respect as well. It’s easy to read, super bright when you need the light, and the alarm will actually wake me up. It’s also sealed to 328 feet, so you don’t have to worry about the weather or diving. Just don’t use the buttons underwater.

I love that I don’t have to worry about my ipod getting wet when roaming the streets of Seattle anymore. Keeping it in a jacket pocket or slot in my bag while controlling it via the watch works perfectly. I’d definitely recommend this.

5 Stars Great addition to the iPod for hiking!!
I got this watch because I like to trail run with my dogs. I couldn’t safely manipulate my iPod with dogs and trails. This watch has made a huge difference. The iPod remote is very responsive, and my iPod stays tucked away safely in my padded fanny pack. Of course, the watch is nice for telling time and running a stopwatch!!! I thought it might be too big, but it turns out that on trails, it’s much easier to push the right buttons and see the display. It’s also a nice remote for use in the car!!!

5 Stars Does what it’s supposed to
It does exactly what it’s supposed to. Tell time, chronograph, multiple time zones, split chrono, etc.

The only thing that brought the appeal of it down a bit was its size. It is particularly small. even for people use to small watches.

However its main attribute comes of its size, its weight. It is so light that I couldn’t feel when I went running, which was the reason for which I bought it for.

5 Stars Great watch for runners!
I have bought several cheap watches in the past, so I decided rather than continue to buy ones that broke I would spend a little extra and get one of higher quality. I am very pleased with my purchase, the watch looks great, it’s very light (I barely realize it’s on my wrist), and it definitely works in the water! Great buy overall.

3 Stars wrong color
I ordered an orange watch and received a black one, but it still functions nicely.

2 Stars Bought for IPOD function
I purchase the product. It was shipped timely, but the IPOD receiver does not work in any of my IPOD’s. I have two Nano’s -one 8GB and the other 4GB (older one) and the IPOD does not recognize the receiver. Will see what seller proposes to do…Otherwise, the watch works fine. It’s the usual Timex functions. I’ve had it only a couple days.

5 Stars Can’t go wrong (updated)!
(((Update: Everything below is true, but the watch stopped controling my ipod after a month. This may not happen to you, but felt I needed to update my review. The watch still works fine.)))

I paid $40 for this cool looking watch, and it does all it supposed to, and it looks great. The ipod function is fantastic and works better than I had hoped. Changing songs and volume while at the gym was always a pain; it’s so easy from the watch!

I was also happy that there’s nothing to do to set it up. Just plug the wireless gizmo into your ipod and it’s set, nothing else to do.

I like the light too. It lights the numbers instead of the background.

The band has a cool locking thing too. I can’t explain it (or don’t feel like it), but I like it.

4 Stars So Far So Good
Bought this item for my girlfriend who runs 15+ miles a week. She has a full sized ipod and always runs with it. She loves the watch and says it works great and that she uses it throughout her run to adjust volume levels or skip forward if a song comes on she doesn’t like. Plus, it’s a great stop watch so she can keep good times for her runs. Product came via standard shipping very quickly. So far, so good!

4 Stars Timex Orange Watch
Watch was exactly what I was looking for in terms of color, a little big for my wrist is the only problem. I don’t really have a use for the iPod thing, so I haven’t tried it out yet. If I was going to fiddle with my watch to change songs, I may as well press the button on my iPod.

5 Stars Love this watch
This watch has been a great addition to my workout gear. It is so much easier to change songs or volume on my wrist rather falling off the treadmill while straining to do this with the iPod strapped to my arm. Highly recommended, easy to use!

5 Stars Love Love Love It!!
It was such a hassle to try to keep time on my iPod while I jogged, so I purchased the Timex Ironman with iPod connection so that I could have my iPod on my arm (rather than in my hand) and control my time and iPod all from the watch. The first time I used it I loved it and now I refuse to run without it!

5 Stars ironMan all the way
This is my second Ironman watch and yet again I am pretty impressed with the added functionality. Its a great priced item and offers the user with dual interval timer offers, ipod remote, triple alarms which can be to the weekdays or weekends.

4 Stars Ironman icontrol works well
This product works well right out of the box. I had no problems setting it up or using it and the functions are intuitive. There are a couple of things to consider:

1. This is basically a one size fits all rubber banded watch, so it’s a little large on women. This has an upside that the time face is large and easy to read.

2. From what I understand, this watch will not work with the newest generation ipod nanos. If you have one of those or are thinking of upgrading, this is something you may want to investigate. I did not try it.

3. Watch for sales on this watch, you can find that the price varies a little.

4. The watch works by plugging in the white remote into your ipod charging/sync connection. It’s sturdy and stable, but I keep wondering what will happen if I lose the white remote receiver. I’m not sure if Timex sells replacements since they are obviously paired with the particular transmitter in the watch. If you are prone to misplacing small items, you may want to consider this issue.
