2 Stars Vastly overrated
I owned a pair of the smooth leather Rainbows and loved them for two years, until the leather began to rub away to the spongy center layer. I tried the premier leather version, but they felt like wearing cardboard. The straps aren’t soft enough to stretch and mold to your feet. Stick with the smooth leather version, or buy Reefs. They tend to be cushier and easier to break in.
5 Stars Thee only sandal
had the same sandals for 15 years, wore them every day, to the beach , they got wet several times, never fell apart. but after all that time the leather did finally start to wear off, i recently bought my daughter and i a pair. love them, no other sandal for me, i have reefs too, got them in ammsterdam at a beach shop, they are thick, so not as comfortable, i love the feel of the single layer, and the toe thing doesn’t bother me but other sandals have in the toe area, YOU will LOVE them !

Ok- I grew up in the South, but was a late converter to Rainbows. I really hated flipflops and feeling anything in-between my toes. Finally, after moving to Chicago, I caved in and bought my first pair. They are amazing! I can’t even feel the straps! The arch support is amazing in these things! I wish I lived at the beach again so I could wear them year round!
I love all the new colors they offer, and am dying for a pair with diamonds! My sister and quite a few friends have ditched the bridal shoes on their wedding day for Rainbows because of comfort and style.
Yes, you could try on someone elses and see if you like it, but the entire selling point of these bad boys is the way it conforms to your foot. They take a few days to break in, but once you do, they are yours for life! (no really, they have a warranty!!)
