Suunto G6 Pro Wrist Top Personal Golf Computer Watch

Reduce your handicap, monitor your shots as you play, and simplify the scorekeeping process all in one with the Suunto G6 Pro personal golf instrument. The Suunto G6 Pro contains an internal sensor that measures various aspects of your swing in different situations. In practice mode, you can record information on the tempo, rhythm, backswing length, and speed of each swing, and then observe the average and deviation values of the different measurements. You can then progress to test mode, in which you play a series of shots with the same club and check your consistency index straight from the wrist-top computer. This gives you an idea of your golfing muscle memory, and how often your swing strays from its “ideal” mechanics. Use the feedback to consistently repeat your best shots while weeding out the weaker ones.

Once you return to the course with your improved skills, the G6 Pro takes care of the details while you play by keeping score. Choose from among four different game types–scratch, Stableford, stroke play, or match–and let the G6 Pro record both your and your opponents’ scores. Not only does it let you focus exclusively on your game, but it also eliminates the need for messy paperwork. At the same time, the G6 Pro monitors your shots as you play, and then analyzes your round afterward via the Suunto Golf Manager PC software (includes USB cable), which identifies the areas of your game that need improvement. The G6 Pro registers such statistical data as fairways hit, GIRs, up and downs, sand saves, putts, and penalties, and then displays the results and history of played games.

Looking to calculate your handicap? The G6 Pro does that, too, by storing your favorite 10 courses in its memory and determining your handicap for a given course. And if your playing partners also have official handicaps, you can use the G6 to update the leaders during a round based on the players’ numbers. It’s the perfect tool for serious players who don’t want to mess with math during a round. You can also change the names of players and courses directly on the wrist-top computer.

Additional features include a traditional watch mode with an alarm, calendar, and stopwatch; a menu-based user interface similar to the ones used by many mobile phones; water-resistance to 100 feet; a user-replaceable battery, and a comfortable black leather wrist strap. The G6 Pro, which weighs 0.12 pounds, is backed by a two-year warranty on parts and labor.

User Ratings and Reviews

1 Star It doesn’t work!
What a great idea, if only it worked. I bought this as a gift for an avid golfer. The main feature that attracted me was the swing analysis function, but the watch doesn’t register half of the swings. We spent more time trying to get the watch to read his swing than we actually spent practicing. What a waste. I am definitely returning it.

3 Stars Battery eater
I got this for a present. Not sure I would have purchased it for myself. I don’t use the swing speed stuff that much. Never could figure out how to make the best use of it. I know already when I swing too fast! I do use the scoring function often. It does provide some useful info but the PC based part of the process leaves a bunch to be desired. It does not do a good job of presenting information in the way you would find valuable. You have to did around to get at what you want. The transfer mechanism is also a bit erratic. The worst problem is that it eats batteries. I play about 3 times a week and I don’t get much more than 6 weeks out of a battery. Considering the written material says 6 months, something is not all it should be.

In summary, a good idea with a lot of very rough edges.

4 Stars Great device
Nice watch. Really helps to help diagnose a consistent swing. I don’t think it will really tell me what is WRONG with my swing but it will help me try to reproduce the same swing each time. Takes a bit of playing aorund to figure it out…the instructions are ok but pretty minimal. And … it can always help you keep score. BTW software is NOT vista compatible (at least not for my 64 bit version)

5 Stars Suunto G6 Pro
Once you get used to the product it serves an excellent purpose. The user’s guide is not as helpful as it should be, however, the product works both in analyzing the golf swing and is otherwise a nice watch that keeps good time.

Victorinox Swiss Army Super Tinker Pocket Tool

User Ratings and Reviews

5 Stars excellent product
Had one for twenty years and finally wore out. Bought this one because it is exactly the same as the old one I had. I go with the quality of Victorinox, and not some other knockoff brands which I have owned and always regretted buying.

5 Stars Knife order
I received what I ordered in a reasonable time and it was in perfect condition. I’m very satisfied.

5 Stars Great little knife
I bought 30 of these to give as Xmas presents last year. People loved them. They are so useful. Lots of good tools in a smallish knife.

5 Stars Simply perfect
I bought this knife over five years ago and carry everyday - It has every thing you need and it’s not too bulky in your pocket or bag. In fact, I love the knife so much I ended up buying ten more for all the guys (and one hardcore gal) in my wedding! Amazon got all 10 of them to me in a matter of a few days.

5 Stars Best utility knife you can buy
This is the real deal. Essentially unbrekable and very compact. A couple of useless tools though.

Victorinox Swiss Army Waiter Pocket Tool

User Ratings and Reviews

5 Stars Very good pocket tool
It is sharp, thin, light, red :). An excellent gift for a friend. If it cost 5$, I would buy one for each of my friends (150 people).

5 Stars Nice and compact
This knife has just the basics and I love it. I love the size - very slim. It’s perfect for traveling.

5 Stars Just the essentials
This knife is perfect in terms of sleekness (no bulge knife cutting into your pants) and just having the few tools I most commonly need. I use the knife, corkscrew and bottle opener all the time when camping, and the tweezers are surprisingly handy too.

5 Stars The pocket knife you really use
This is the pocket knife I carry when travelling. You have what you need. It is thin, ligh. You have a blade for peeling and cut a fruit. A corkscrew for that special wine you will have in your room at a discounted price. Sometimes I use the cap opener and as far as I can remember I have used once the can opener. In other words do not go for those mini or maxi pocket knife, have your “waiter” with you!

5 Stars Minimalist perfection
This is the perfect minimalist picnic knife. The bare essentials in a knife that can be comfortably pocketed. Very durable and easy to use. An excellent, always useful and tasteful gift.

Victorinox Swiss Army Climber Pocket Tool

Victorinox Swiss Army Climber Pocket Tool

User Ratings and Reviews

5 Stars great knife
i had one of these before and it was taken away at the airport (oops!). i really liked it, found it very useful, and wanted to get another. i remembered it being much more expensive than it actually was, so i was really pleased. i order packages on the web all the time and i love having this to quickly open the boxes. the scissors are really useful, time after time. i keep mine on my key chain and find myself reaching for it all the time. this one has even more tools than my previous one. the corkscrew is always a good thing to have around, as well as the bottle opener. it is very sturdy, feels good in the hand and is exactly what i wanted.

5 Stars Victorinox Swiss Army Knife Climber
This is a great multi-purpose knife/tool. I did a lot of searching/thinking to figure out which of the swiss army knive series would be the best for hiking/camping and so far version has proven to be a very good choice.

Perhaps allow me to elaborate. And just keep in mind, I’ve had the Climber for ~1 month (summertime) now.

So far I’ve have used the can opener a couple of times, pretty handy to have when camping rather than some extra bulky or hard to find addition to all of your other items.

I’ve found that the reamer is good for getting loose extremely tight knots that you wished you’d left some slack on!

Cork screw works great. I’ve used it twice now and plan on using it much, much more. (Cheers) I think this is a good sacrifice over the screwdriver!

The scissors are nice to have, good for cutting nails/coupons.

Bottle opener does its job. Haven’t used (or really plan on using) the wire stripper.

As for the flathead screwdrivers, haven’t used these yet but figure they may come in handy one day.

Haven’t used the tweezers yet either, but again.. they may come in handy one day.

I’ve used the multi-purpose hook to pull out some smaller, metal pegs.. although, the tent situation has recently been upgraded to the larger plastic ones (too bad).

Toothpick is nice to have if you’ve been eating corn off the cob.

And alas, the blades. These are great! Very sharp so be careful when closing.

Overall, I am very satisfied.

5 Stars Swiss Army Knife
I bought this Swiss Army Knife to replace the one that I had for 26 years

but was taken from me at the airport. This knife has the exact features as my old one and the only thing that I find different is that the toothpick is somewhat flexible. It’s a great knife and useful, especially the can opener and scissors. I know that this knife will also last a very long time.

5 Stars Nice value in a genuine Swiss Army knife
For the money, you will get a nice, versatile pocket knife that will not overstuff your pocket.

5 Stars Great Knife for Travelling
This quality made product has all the functions that one might want when travelling; the first trip I took it on, I used the scissors, bottle opener, and toothpick, as well as the knife several times. The size is great for slipping into a pocket or backpack.

User Ratings and Reviews

5 Stars Very good…
Is a very handy tool. Any kind of job is made easy. This tool is for all life…

5 Stars Excellent multitool
I have owned or evaluated multitools by several manufacturers, and Victorinox makes the best. The manufacturing quality is outstanding. The selection of tools is excellent, the tools lock solidly in place, and the knife is razor sharp out of the box.

When used as pliers, the outside of the handles do not dig into your hand.

Highly recommended.

5 Stars Yup. For Sure a Five. This is a reference quality tool
The Swisstool comes in three configurations, which another reviewer has described well. The X model had the combination of ingredients that seemed to fit my needs best. Everything about the Swisstool shows that Victorinox was incredibly serious about offering a top quality product.

I have had experience with several multi-tools (check my other reviews) and the Swisstool MUST BE a contender for the best. There are some top of the line tools that I have never used or even handled, of course, so I can’t say absolutely what tool is THE best but the Swisstool X has to be considered one of the very best mulitools available.

I can’t help but make a comparison between the X and L-Man’s Charge TTi (which I also own and rate as a 5).

1. Both these designs exude class. The X has a beautiful high luster polish to it. The fit and finish factors are all “first class”. On the other hand, the TTi’s Titanium scales give it an elegant look and also offer an improved grip.

2. I like to access my tools without unfolding the pliers. The TTi allows this kind of access to the tools I use MOST. But the X allows access to ALL its tools from outside (except the pliers, of course).

3. The TTi allows you to access two knife blades and unfold the pliers with one hand - maybe useful in emergencies - which the X does not. Some have complained that the tools on the X are stiff and hard to access. I recommend using a thumbnail rather than a fingernail for this but it isn’t a complaint that I - personally - consider a major drawback.

4. The Knife Blade: I am reserving judgment on this. The TTi has two blades and the X just one (which is the configuration I chose to buy) so I will compare the one blade. Each is straight edged, no serrations (which I prefer) and about the same length (larger than the blades on other multitools I have owned). I like the shape of the X’s blade better (a spear point, as opposed to the clip style blade of the TTi). On the other hand, the “TTi’s” blade is S30V steel (premium stuff) whereas the X’s is of “top quality stainless” (my guess is 12C27, or something very similar). I will see how often I have to resharpen the X’s “top quality stainless” blade. If the edge holds up well, it may turn out I like the X’s knife blade better. But for now, like I said, I am reserving judgment.

5. The pliers, etc. on each of these tools seem quite good but I have to give the edge to the TTi, which has a true needlenose design. They should therefore be a bit more versatile than the X’s pliers, which are a blunted needlenose design.

6. Screwdrivers, etc.: Even without the TTi’s included bit driver kit (something similar is available for the X, also) the TTi gets an edge over the X. The TTi’s eyeglass screwdriver is definitely superior to that little wedgie at the end of the X’s can opener, which will not be able to reach into narrow places (sorry).

7. Both tools have solid, easily accessed and worry free locks for all tools, a necessary safety feature - as anyone who has had a tool fold up on them can tell you.

8. I have no concerns in the area of durability and ruggedness for either tool. I have had the TTi a while now and have done things with it that SHOULD have broken it - but didn’t. It still looks and feels like it did new. The X seems to be at least as solid in its construction as the TTi and Victorinox has a reputation to uphold, so there are no worries here.

The bottom line is that I am really pleased with both of these tools. If I lost either one, I could live happily a long time with the other. If I lost both, I would probably buy the “X” as my replacement (considering the considerable price difference) even though I probably like the TTi just a little better (this week, anyway).

In any case, Victorinox has a winner in the Swisstool X. I can’t imagine how anyone could rate it as less than a 5.

5 Stars Victorinox SwissTool X
Wonderful gift for my not-easy-to-shop-for son-in-law. Classy and practical, plus it was on his Amazon Wish List. I’m pleased with the buying experience.

5 Stars The best multitool I’ve found
I bought one of these for myself, and a week later, one for my dad as the perfect Christmas gift. The one for my dad replaced a Leatherman Wave that broke only a few months after he got it. I had trouble finding one locally at all, as stores only had the Swiss Army Knife line of Victorinox Tools around here (no SwissTools). Thank goodness for Amazon!

This tool is heavy and well made. There is a night and day difference between it and the Wave in terms of quality workmanship.

One thing I wish could be better is the file. A diamond file on one side like on the Wave would probably have been more useful to me than having two course and fine file surfaces on this tool. However, the files do work very well, and the other tools make up for this with their versatility. The awl/reamer tool is very handy, as is the wood chisel. The screwdrivers are far more rugged than the drive bit system in the Wave, which is what broke the worst for my dad. Plus, there are no parts to fall out and get lost.

I’m very pleased with this tool. It stays on my belt now, where it can always be handy.
